Do mothers and fathers always get equal child custody time?

Summer is here and many California families are enjoying the chance to take vacations. With children out of school some moms and dads are reducing their hours at work in order to spend valuable time with their kids. However, not all families are able to be together all of the time. Families that have gone through divorce may be splitting their time between the households of the two previously married parents.

Celebrity split leads to high net worth divorce

Though many Californians work through the difficult emotions that appear during divorce, few have to put up with the level of scrutiny celebrities must endure when their marriages end. With expectant fans watching to see how they will manage their personal affairs, some celebrities have to terminate long-term marriages all without alienating their supporters. One popular and high profile couple that has been together for nearly two decades is just now entering this challenging phase of life.

Division of assets, custody decisions complicate divorces

Divorces can be straightforward when the splitting parties agree on all aspects of their marital dissolution. From who will have physical custody of the kids to how retirement accounts should be divided, agreement is fundamental to securing timely divorce resolutions. While some California couples are able to accomplish such feats, others cannot come to agreement on the most basic elements of their break-ups.

Inflation, other factors, can make standard of living costs rise

California is a great place to live though some people lament the relatively high prices residents must endure for such necessities as groceries and gasoline. Compared to other parts of the country several markets in the state regularly fall onto national lists of the priciest places to make a home. A recent study by the Bureau of Labor Statistics suggests that costs are going up for people all over the country, including those residents here in Stockton.
